Montana fly fishing is known for big trout eating grasshoppers on the Yellowstone. Anglers come to Montana from around the world to fish some of the country’s most iconic rivers and prolific hatches. I feel incredibly lucky to call this place my home and have such easy access to Big Sky Country.
Being my first winter here, I have been surprised by how good the fishing continues to be throughout the harsh winter. Subzero temps for weeks on end and deep snowpacks keep most anglers from venturing out, and traveling here. For the ones willing to brave the unpredictable conditions, some of the best days of the year are very possible.
Our crew has had some of these days recently and they will not be forgotten! The last few trips can be summed up by frozen rods and fingers but rewarded with catching more fish than we ever have. We have been staying dry with our FITS socks and love OTC Waders! the Check out some photos from our last trip below!
